No bike-taxis to ply on Delhi roads as Supreme Court stays HC order
The Supreme Court of India on Monday (June 12) stayed a High Court order which allowed bike-taxis to operate in the national capital.

The Supreme Court of India on Monday (June 12) stayed a High Court order which allowed bike-taxis to operate in the national capital.
The order came after the Supreme Court heard two pleas filed by the Delhi government against a high court order permitting bike-taxi aggregators, Rapido and Uber, to operate in the national capital till notification of the final policy by the administration on plying of two-wheeler non-transport vehicles.
Announcing the verdict, Supreme Court said that bike-taxis cannot ply on the roads of Delhi till a final policy is framed.
However, the vacation bench of justices Aniruddha Bose and Rajesh Bindal, hearing the matter, granted liberty to the Rapido and Uber to request urgent hearing of their plea by the Delhi HC.
Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government had moved the Supreme Court, challenging the Delhi HC order asking it not to take any coercive action against the bike-taxi aggregators till a final policy was notified in the matter.
