Tamil Nadu arts teacher held under Pocso for abusing girl students in class

An arts teacher employed at a central government school in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, has been arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act following allegations of inappropriate behavior towards girl students.

The accused, identified as Rajan from Vadavalli, was working at a central government school located in the Race Course area.

According to complaints raised by several girl's students, he allegedly touched them inappropriately during painting and yoga classes.

Upon receiving the complaints, the school management conducted an internal inquiry.

Based on their findings, the school principal lodged a formal complaint with the Gandhipuram All Women Police Station. Following the investigation, Rajan was arrested under Pocso charges.
