Sri Lankan President directs to increase fertilizer subsidy for paddy farmers

The President has advised the Treasury to provide a fuel subsidy to fishermen effective from October 01.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has directed the Treasury to increase the fertilizer subsidy provided for paddy farmers from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 25,000 per hectare for the 2024/25 Maha season.

The fertilizer subsidy to be increased with effect from October 01, the President’s Media Division said.

The President has advised the Treasury to provide a fuel subsidy to fishermen effective from October 01.

He has instructed for it to be credited to their bank accounts directly on a monthly basis
