Woman sleeping next to ailing son at Kolkata hospital molested

Upon receiving the complaint about the incident, the Kolkata Police filed an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and arrested the accused.

A 26-year-old woman was allegedly molested by a health worker when she was sleeping at a government-run hospital in Kolkata, where her child was admitted for treatment.

According to the woman's complaint, the incident happened when she was sleeping in the children's ward of Kolkata's Institute of Child Health (ICH), where her ailing child was admitted.

The accused, identified as Tanay Pal (26), who used to work as a ward boy in the hospital, entered the children's ward, inappropriately touched and disrobed the woman. The accused also recorded the incident on his mobile phone, the complaint added.

Upon receiving the complaint about the incident, the Kolkata Police filed an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and arrested the accused.

The police also seized Pal's mobile phone and sent it for forensic examination. Later, he was produced before a local court, which sent him to police custody.
