Kolkata Police on Tuesday arrested as many as 126 protesters, including 103 males and 23 females, during a march towards state secretariat Nabanna on Tuesday demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the wake of the alleged rape and murder of a doctor, sources told India Today TV.

They also said that 15 police personnel were injured in the violent clashes in the city. The police used batons, tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd who proceeded to Nabanna.
