DMK eyes big win in Vikravandi

The Vikravandi Assembly constituency, with a total of 2,34,624 voters, fell vacant after DMK MLA N Pugazhenthi passed away on April 6, 2024.

With the principal opposition party AIADMK staying out of the fray in the Vikravandi bypoll in Tamil Nadu, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) looks confident of an easy win, even as NDA allies Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) and Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) aim to dent the ruling party's chances and make substantial gains in the bypolls on July 10.

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has boycotted the bypoll in the Vikravandi segment, expressing doubts that the polls may not be conducted in a democratic manner.

The Vikravandi Assembly constituency, with a total of 2,34,624 voters, fell vacant after DMK MLA N Pugazhenthi passed away on April 6, 2024.

The DMK was aiming for a massive victory for its candidate Anniyur Siva as the AIADMK decided to boycott the bye-election.
