BJP blasts Priyanka Gandhi’s Wayanad move
20-Jun-2024Responding to Chandrasekhar, senior Congress leader Pawan Khera pointed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s own track record.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s nomination from the Wayanad constituency has ignited a political firestorm, with the BJP accusing the Congress of engaging in "dynastic politics."
Former Union Minister and BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar accused the Congress of betraying the public and concealing its intentions. Chandrasekhar took to X, saying, “There is shamelessness and there is Cong type of shamelessness - imposing one member after another of their dynasty on voters of Wayanad - after shamelessly hiding the fact that Rahul was contesting from another constituency.”
Responding to Chandrasekhar, senior Congress leader Pawan Khera pointed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s own track record.
"Like @narendramodi ‘shamelessly’ concealed from the voters of Vadodara that he will be contesting from Varanasi too, in 2014?" Khera quipped.
He was referring to then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi contesting the 2014 Lok Sabha polls from Vadodara and Varanasi and winning both. He subsequently resigned from the Vadodara constituency and retained the Varanasi seat.
